When many hear the word ankara, the country Turkey comes to mind since the Ankara is the capital of turkey.Nevertheless, ankara is also the general term used for african fabrics.

Ankara prints fabrics can be worn for regular occasions, but many people consider it a formal fabric and wear it for special occasions. Some people wear it as “asoebi” for special occasions such as weddings, birthdays, balls etc. Asoebi is a nigerian word and it means “clothes of the family”. Family members, relatives and close friends usually dress up in a similar attire for special events.

Ankara prints come in different patterns Kente and popular ankara prints. Ankara fabrics can also be used to make alot of things its practically endless, shoes, swimwear, jewelry, pillows,
