Nigerians are lovers of tasty foods, especially street food.Street food in Nigeria is on another level, they could serve you as a meal on the go, a snack or an appetizer, this happens either because we are stuck in traffic or we suddenly crave these food.Nigerian street food have a unique flavor and taste that you cannot find any where else.Here are some of the best snacks you can try in Nigeria:


1-PUFF PUFF

Puff puff is the number one snack in Nigeria, it is made with sugar, yeast,flour,ground nutmeg, vegetable and salt.It is undoubtedly fluffy, deep-fried,soft and appetizing.It is often used as a typical snack and when in small sizes ,it is perfect for what Nigerians call ''small chops''in Nigerians occasions.


2-SUYA

Suya is a sliced roasted meat(often beef).Suya is part of the best selling Nigerian snack, it is very popular in drink spots and bars.in Nigeria Suya and beer are siblings and have to be taken together.


3-AKARA(BEANS CAKE)

Nigerian meals cannot be imagined without Akara,I can personally tell you this snack has saved a lot of lives from hunger including mine...its the most popular street food in our country.The English name is (BEANS CAKE),it can be eaten with custard, pap and most importantly best eaten with hot bread.The ingredients are fried beans balls mixed with various spices and onions, of cause.It is also know well because it is very easy to make.


4-EGG ROLLS

The Nigerian egg rolls can be easily mistaken for scotched eggs but on a closer look, the difference is very clear.This snack is made by practically wrapping up a boiled egg in dough and deep frying it.A chilled drink compliment egg rolls well because Nigerian heat is....ugh unexplainable.


5-BOLE(ROASTED PLANTAIN)

Boli(a.k.a. roasted plantain) this is a very popular Nigerian street food, nothing fancy or complicated.Just a whole plantain thrown on a grill and turned around a few times to get it all blown and crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside.Boli can be eaten with groundnut, fish,meat,palm oil, and a specific kind of sauce made with palm oil.


6-COCONUT CANDY

Coconut candies are chewable, crunchy or candy like and are very easy to make.Traditionally they could be thinly grated and fried but in time the caramel initiative came in, coconut candies also serve as desserts or treats.It is best for someone who just always has to eat something.
